Raipur convention: Whom to send, J&K Cong leaders confused
2/15/2023 11:07:10 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 15: Just nine days left for the national convention of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at Raipur-the capital city of the Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh state but Jammu and Kashmir Congress has failed to finalize the names of participants.
Highly placed sources said that there is complete chaos and confusion in J&K Congress over participation in the AICC convention because those at the helm of the affairs have yet not announced the names of those who are eligible to attend the convention.
“Instead of disclosing names of those who will attend the convention, Congress leadership is rather trying to create confusion”, sources said.
Important to mention here that the Congress will hold a plenary session of the party from February 24 to 26 in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) election will also be held along with the plenary session. The CWC is the highest decision-making body of the Congress party.
It will be a three-day conference and will start on 24th and end on 26th February.
The three-day session in Raipur will be witnessing a detailed discussion on six major issues.
There will be six major subjects to be debated- one is political, economic, international affairs, farmers and agricultural, social justice and empowerment, youth education and employment.
These are the six subjects which are going to be debated and discussed in the plenary session along with the constitutional amendment. Usually we do that constitutional amendment committee, or so that will also be part of the plenary session.
Congress’s mini-brainstorm session took place at Udaipur in May 2022 where the party charted out a blueprint as far as where the party will head further.
The plenary session will be significant as the party will finalise the strategy before crucial state Assembly elections in nine states and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
