DDC chairperson chairs Mega Kisan Mela under SMAE- ATMA

RAJOURI, Mar 10: The District Development Council Chairperson, Adv Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat, recently chaired a mega Kisan Mela organised under SMAE-ATMA (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) in the district to provide farmers with an opportunity to interact with different government departments and avail themselves of their services.
The Mela was attended by a large number of farmers from across the district as well as representatives from various government departments, such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Banks, Sericulture, KVK, etc.
The event featured a range of stalls showcasing different vegetables and agricultural products, along with pamphlets depicting various schemes. The lectures on the implementation of various schemes were well-received by the farmers, who found them informative and useful.
Through the Mela, farmers were able to gain access to free advisory services by experts from each department, as well as benefit from the provision of discounted inputs and other resources. The event was also used to promote various government initiatives such as organic farming, crop diversification and soil health management, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC Pawan Kumar emphasised the importance of such events in promoting the welfare of farmers. He said that the government is committed to supporting the farmers and will continue to organise such events in the future.
The ADDC also interacted with the farmers and addressed their queries about the various policies and schemes being implemented for the benefit of farmers. He also encouraged them to take advantage of the various initiatives taken by the government to promote agricultural activities in the district.
While addressing the event, the Chairman DDC Rajouri, Adv Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat, also assured the farmers of full support from the government to promote their agricultural activities and urged them to contribute towards building a better future for the farming community.
He also took a keen interest in listening to the issues of the farmers and assured them that their issues would be addressed soon. He also discussed various initiatives taken by the government to help the farming community and encouraged them to take full benefit of the schemes being provided.
The DDC Chairperson also highlighted various measures that the government has taken for the quick resolution of grievances related to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, etc.
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Rajouri expressed its commitment to continuing to educate and support farmers in the region. The Mega Kissan Mela was a great success and the department looks forward to organising more such events in the future.
Among others who attended the event were BDC Dhangri, Tazheem Akhter; CAO, Sohan Singh; LDM, Sanjeev Bhasin; DHO, Shafqat Khan; Functional Manager Lead Bank, Ashwani Sharma; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi and a large number of farmers from across the district.
