Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 10: Politicians across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are anxiously waiting for the move of Ghulam Nabi Azad on the invitation of Dr. Farooq Abdullah to join the all-party meeting to be held on Saturday.
Highly placed sources like other political parties, Dr. Farooq Abdullah has also invited the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad to attend the meeting.
National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah has called All Party Meeting (APM) at his residence here on March 11.
As per reports the meeting has been called to discuss the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir. All major political parties have extended an invitation to the meeting which is scheduled to be held at 3 pm on Saturday.
During the last All-Party Meeting held on August 22, 2022, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Conference and Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari stayed away from the opposition’s meeting.
Reports said that Peoples’ Conference and Apni Party will stay away from Saturday’s meeting. All eyes are on the newly floated Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) of former Congress stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad.
When the last all-party meeting was held in August 2022, Azad has not floated his political party DPAP. He was in Congress at that time.
Former Congress leader and ex-Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad had launched a new political party on September 26, 2022. He also unveiled the flag of the new party.
Last time the all-party meeting was held on August 22, 2022, to discuss the decision of the J&K government to grant voting rights to non-locals.
Apart from constituents of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), representatives from Congress, Janta Dal (United) Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, and chairman of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Choudhary Lal Singh attended the meeting.
