GDCW organises seminar on "equal opportunities for men, women"

KATHUA, Mar 11: The IQAC and English/Hindi/ Dogri /Sanskrit/Pol Science Department of Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua organised seminar on "Equal Opportunities for men and women" under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav and in connection with celebration of Indian Presidency over G20 summit today with great zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest of the function was Dr. Savi Behl, Esteemed Principal of the college. The proceedings of the function began with the lightening of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Dr. Arun Dev Singh presented the welcome address. The students of the college presented their views on the importance of gender equality and equal opportunities for men and women. The faculty Members Dr Arun Dev Singh, HOD English and Dr Mukesh Kumari, HOD Hindi also presented their views on the equal rights for men and women and Gender Equality for a healthy society. Dr. Savi Behl, Principal, while speaking on the occasion, stressed upon Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and empowerment of women. She talked about contribution of women in the digital world and raised awareness on challenges women face, highlighting the role of education in promoting gender equality and meeting the health and developmental needs of women. The proceedings of the programme were conducted Dr Arun Dev Singh. Prof Ashwani Khajuria, Prof Ravinder Kour, Prof Pankaj Nandan, Dr Naresh Sharma, Prof Palvi, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma, Dr Vaishno Devi, Dr. Varchaskam Sharma, Dr Usha Kiran, Dr Deepti Salotra and students were present on the occasion.
