3/11/2023 10:45:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 11: While expressing his gratitude to all the stakeholders on the successful conclusion of the 8th class examination, the Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, Prof (Dr) Parkshat Singh Manhas, Saturday, said that perseverance and diligence are the hallmarks of those nations that accept change in their lives wholeheartedly.
After the government granted its approval for the implementation of the unified academic calendar and the holding of exams in the March-April session, roughly 1.79 lakh students from both government and private schools in the Jammu and Kashmir Divisions took the examination of the second term of the academic year 2022-23.
The examination to the 8th standard concluded on Friday.
"Some adjustments may initially seem challenging but you'll soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to develop," Prof. Manhas, while wishing good futures to the students, said. "Change certainly brings with it unexpected dividends."
It was decided to begin conducting the theory exam in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir in the first week of March, with the exception of specific areas rated as "difficult" in both divisions.
"The examination in these difficult areas shall be delayed and held from 2nd week of April as the calendar proposed, when these areas are fully accessible and the delivery of the examination stationery and confidential material is ensured," the government order No: 287-Edu of 2022 of 30:04:2022 reads.
The result of these examinations, the order reads, shall be declared simultaneously.
During his visit to the valley on February 27, Prof. Manhas hurried right immediately to several examination centres to assess the preparations made by the authorities. Additionally, he went to the centres where children with special needs (CWSN) were taking the test.
In the Jammu Division, he also made numerous visits to various exam centres and saw to it that the necessary arrangements were put in place. He gave SCERT and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) officials instructions to conduct similar inspections and ensured that the students did not face any difficulties.
Prof. Manhas, who was appointed as the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE), has also been given the additional responsibility of Director of the SCERT.
The SCERT and the associated (DIETs) were entrusted with the job of supervising the entire process of conducting the examinations.
