Started early morning, the padyatris met the public in Indri, Manchanda, Dhonchak, Bakore, troti and Chak malal Panchayat and Main Bazar Jourian. Series of meetings were addressed by party leaders, who also conveyed the message of party high Command against the wrong policies and anti people approach of the present UT and Central Government.
After successful conclusion of bharat Jodo yatra started by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, This is further an initiative by party high command to meet the public and workers through Haath say Haath Jodo Campaign.
Party under the leadership of Tarachand decided to have padyatra for khour and Akhnoor areas in Coming 10 days. This Schedule can also be extended for more days with aim to Cover every Village in border and far flung hilly areas.
While speaking in the meeting, former Dy CM attacked his successors for totally ignoring the local populace and areas. The developmental works initiated by him during Congress regime are stand still and in last 9 years no one even repair the roads and buildings. Cursing unemployment, Tarachand said that thousands of local youths got employment through rehbare-talim, rehbare-jirat, rehbare-sports, need-based and casual labor engagement during Congress Government time, but today everyone is protesting. It gave me shock when some local officers told me that hundreds of Schools opened in my time as legislator got clubbed and buildings are in shabby Conditions. Few days back, there was news that river Chenab cut most of the land in bakore area for just want of two crates by flood department, he said.
Tarachand narrated that during our time, flood control department always remained on toes with dumping of material and crates, on just single phone call by villagers, officers had reached the spot with team. Special funds were also remain on the disposal of department. We have always respected and kept the aspirations of our people above power and never compromised with the miseries of Commonmen. He appealed the people to strengthen the Congress in every nook and Corner, as it is only political party which always fought for the genuine cause of the public. The price rise of essential commodities compelled people to stand against present governments.
Tarachand claimed that Congress during its tenure had proved how to provide pro-people governance to the people by bringing total transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government. "We set an example of good governance during Congress regime where in every individual was provided with the equal opportunity of growth and developmental" , he said.
Prominent among those who addressed the meetings were Sh Narinder Sharma, Jagattar Singh, Jagdish Sharma, Avtar Singh, Sham lal, Madanlal, Santosh Manhas, Ramesh Verma, Deepu Chib, Vipin lachotra and others.
