ASCOMS organizes Fresher's Day of BSc Nursing, farewell of GNM

JAMMU, Mar 15: Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education organized combined function for bidding Farewell to GNM 3rd year students and Freshers Day for first batch of BSc Nursing students in the College Auditorium on 14th March, 2023. The chief guest on the occasion was D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS & H and guest of honor was Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital. Others present on the occassion were Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Merajdin Chauhan, DGM, Hosp. Adm. and Audit and large number of faculty, staff and students.
The Function started with lighting of Ceremonial Lamp by D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS & H, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS & H and Dr. Indra Moza, Principal, ASCCONE. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, while addressing the students, mainly focused towards the legal and ethical responsibilities of the Nurses which make them to take proper care of the ailing patients. He said that the profession of the nurses is a noble one in which the nurses sacrifice their own interests and always crave for the betterment of the patients and play a vital role for the improvement the health of patients. The nurses are the heart-beat of every hospital. He advised all the nurses to always remain calm, cool and patient oriented while dealing with the ailing and suffering human beings.
Dr. Prof. Indra Moza, Principal, Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education, while welcoming the esteemed guests, thanked them for having spared their valuable time to attend and grace this function. Dr. Moza, in her address, said that this college is not merely an educational and training institution but here, one can build his/her personality, attitude and transform his/her character which ultimately makes them versatile for fulfilling the desired goals. She also impressed upon the students who passed out and are going to start a new career in this profession to whole-heartedly and dedicatedly put their worth so that they become successful in their new place. In her closing address, she said that this is really an emotional day for each of us as we are bidding farewell to the students of one of the best batches of Nursing Course.
Various scintillating performances were presented by the students which mesmerized the audiences. Awards were also distributed amongst the winners by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Tariq Ahmed & Sahibah Yousuf of BSc 1st year were declared as Mr. & Miss Freshers respectively whereas, Kuwardeep Singh & Sadaf Ashraf got the Mr. & Miss Personality award. Anisha Sharma & Mohd. Saqib bagged the title of Mr. & Miss Farewell. Vote of thanks was presented by Vice Principal, Prof. Davinder Kour.
