CMP for school committees organised in Marh

JAMMU, Mar 18: A community mobilisation programme for School Management Committees (SMCs), School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs), Village Education Committees (VECs) and PRI members was organised today under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha by the Zonal Education Office in Marh. The event took place at Government Middle School Dhateryal in Zone Marh.
During the programme, community members were informed about the roles and responsibilities of SMCs/SMDCs/VECs and PRI members in the development of government schools. They were encouraged to come forward and help revive the education system for the future of children. They were also made aware of government schemes such as the MDM programme, free textbooks, free uniforms for classes 1st to 8th, scholarship schemes for SC/ST/OBC/disabled students and National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS).
Community members were urged to promote enrolment by encouraging the general public to send their children to government schools to receive quality education from highly qualified teachers and avail a range of facilities.
Speakers from different school committees gave valuable suggestions for the welfare of students and to improve the education system.
The vote of thanks was presented by Zonal Education Officer Ram Rakha from Marh.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Principal GDC Marh, Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul; Principal HSS Gajansoo, Namarata Khajuria; Principal HSS Marh; Sarsa Ram; Headmasters, committee members and staff from government schools.
