JAMMU, Mar 20: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Dy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, while terming the Union Budget 2023-24 as the most outstanding fiscal management by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has asserted that this budget is going to help continue the pace of development in the Union Territory as necessary provisions have been ensured by the concerned minister to realize the dream of PM Narendra Modi to usher in era of peace and progress in the region.
The senior BJP leader was addressing an august gathering during a seminar on ‘Budget pe Charcha’ held at the BJP Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar here today. It is pertinent to mention here that Kavinder Gupta was the chief Guest on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were DDC Chairpersons Bharat Bhushan, Keshav Sharma, Saraf Singh Nag and Col Mahan Singh; Chander Mohan Gupta ex Mayor, Deputy Mayor Baldev Billoria; Spokesperson BJP Jammu and Kashmir, Purnima Sharma; Sat Sharma, Rakesh Mahajan Convener All Cells BJP, Abhijit Jasrotia, Pawan Singh, Surjeet Singh and Ved Sharma Co-Convener besides members of Local Bodies Cell And Panchayati Raj Cell. Prominent business persons including traders and industrialists were also present at the event.
Kavinder Gupta said that this budget is futuristic and a ray of hope for one and all as it addresses the aspirations of the people belonging to every section of the society.
He said the Budget component appropriated to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is all the more meticulously planned strategic tool to bring unprecedented transformation in the region.
Kavinder said that the J&K Budget in brief can be said to be a people’s Budget full of all the niceties and it is for the party workers especially the members of ULBs and Panchayati Raj Cells to make the people aware about the highlights of the budget that are aimed at prosperity and overall welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Stressing that the members of ULBs and Panchayati Raj Cells( PRCs) have direct connect with the people at grass roots level, the senior BJP leader said that these members have to play a vital role in creating awareness about the benefits of J&K Budget 2023-24. He said that it is solemn duty of all party cadres to spread awareness about the resounding features of the aforesaid budget so that people can have the idea about Modi Government’s plans to steer J&K to new heights of progress and prosperity.
Sat Sharma, in his address, said that this year’s Budget focuses on poor, women, labourers, middle class, youth, farmers, SC, ST, OBC and every section of society. While enumerating the major points from the Budget 2023-24, he said that in order to provide financial support to farmers, Rs. 20 lakh crore have been provided for Kissan credit. This major step will largely help small and marginal farmers. For MSME, Rs. 2 lakh crore MSME guarantee scheme without collateral loans with less interest rates is yet another major step, Sharma added.
Rakesh Mahajan, Convener All Cells BJP, while speaking at the seminar, highlighted that 80 crore poor will get free ration for next one year and Priority households will get free ration under this budget for which Rs. 2 lakh crore have been allocated.
Abhijit Jasrotia said Modi government is committed to empower youth and lakhs of youth will be trained in the internet of things, Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing, etc, under a skill development initiative.
He further explained that over 47 lakh youth will be part of this initiative and they would also receive a stipend.
