2-day Baisakhi Festival begins at Dera Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Shrine

REASI, Apr 13: Like other parts of the country, Baisakhi festival also known as "Harvest festival" is being celebrated with traditional fanfare and gaiety in Reasi, specially at Dera Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Shrine.
A mega 2-day festival was organized at Dera Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Shrine by District Administration Reasi along with other religious and social organizations to mark the Baisakhi celebrations.
During the inaugural function, a 'shobha yatra', was also taken out in which hundreds of devotees took part and paid obeisance at the revered Shrine of Dera Baba-situated approximately 30 km from the Holy town Katra.
The devotees from across the UT and also from neighboring states of Punjab and Haryana visited the Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Shrine on the occasion of Baisakhi Festival. They prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and well being of one and all.
The Pilgrims enjoyed a unique bond and blend of spirituality and secularism.
DDC Chairman Saraf Singh Naag was the chief guest on the occasion. He said Reasi district of J&K is unique for many reasons as it is bestowed with unique religious and scenic spots for which it is one of the favourite destinations amongst tourists and pilgrims and every year lakhs of devotees from across the UT and neighbouring states visit this unique district.
The shrine is situated at village Dera of District Reasi built by revered Sikh warrior and leader Baba Banda Bahadur Singh Ji. He was a close confidant and follower of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
On this occasion, elaborate arrangements were put in place by the District Administration which includes langars, medical camps and necessary protocols.
