Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 13: Adding to the frustration of Pakistan, the Modi government has only geared up preparations for the G20 meeting scheduled to be held in Srinagar in May, since the moment the neighboring country raised a fresh propaganda.
In response to the latest Pakistani propaganda against the scheduled meeting in Srinagar, while a meeting was held in the national capital to review preparedness for the mega event, even the local administration in Kashmir only geared up the preparations. The third meeting of G20 Tourism Working Group under India’s G20 Presidency will be held from May 22 to 24 in Srinagar, as per the sources.
In a provocative statement issued by the Pakistan on April 11, the neighboring country sounded frustrated at the era of peace and prosperity in Kashmir. “India’s irresponsible move is the latest in a series of self-serving measures to perpetuate … Jammu and Kashmir in sheer disregard of the UN Security Council resolutions and in violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law,” the Pakistani Foreign Office said.
In a brilliant reply, by the time the Pakistani propaganda was out in public domain, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs called for a meeting to review the preparedness for the G20 meeting.
The administration in Kashmir, on the other hand, instantly called a meeting to review arrangements asked the concerned to gear up the civic works for the event.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, VK Bhiduria on April 11 held a meeting asking the concerned to complete the pending work in time.
Sources said the reply of the Modi government to the Pakistani propaganda shall remain the successful holding of the event in the valley.
“See the best reply to Pakistan has already been the era of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and the final reply on this front will come through the successful holding of the G20 and that is what the government has been focusing at,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Since the abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the valley has been witnessing era of economic prosperity as the tourist footfall in particular has gone up to over 1.4 crore tourists visiting the valley in 2022 alone.
The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s 20 major developed and developing economies and its meeting is expected to boost economic activities even further in the Union Territory.
