JKCCA to organize National Painters’ Camp

Jammu, Apr 23: Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu is going to organize a National Painters’ Camp at Mansar Lake (District Samba in J&K) w.e.f. 6th- 9th May, 2023. Twelve well known artists fron different states/ UTs of the country are participating in this artist camp in the lap of Nature surrounding Mansar Lake. The participating artists are Dr. Rekha Rani Sharma, Gorakhpur and Pratima Singh, Lucknow; Dr A K Dixit, New Delhi; Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar; Dr. Mamta Singh, Dehradun; Rani Prasad, Pune; Gaytri, Hoshiarpur; O P Sharma, Jammu; Minu Dey, Kolkatta; K S Gill, Amritsar; Tariq Saifi, Surankot, Poonch; and Jang S. Verman, Jammu.
According to O P Sharma, the Founder Director of JKCCA, “The purpose of organizing such events is to promote art & culture in the Union Territory of Jammu and draw people from other parts of the country to enjoy the Natural beauty of the area. Further, such activities help in promoting interaction between the communities and developing national integration and communal harmony.”
He added that the artists and art lovers are benefitted by the interaction and sharing between the participating artists working in different parts of the country in their particular styles and mediums.
It may be mentioned here that JKCCA was established way back in 1999 by some art lovers and enthusiasts to preserve promote and activate the splendid art heritage of Jammu & Kashmir and stimulate & rejuvenate it into a blossoming art movement. Its three pronged strategy is unleash the progress of languages, literature and other fine arts.
The NGO has so far organized hundreds of such activities within and outside the state as well as it has successfully organized fourteen International Art Exhibitions, and many state and national level art exhibitions and painters camps during last many years. JKCCA has planned to organize the next National level Artists’ Camp at Poonch during the month of June, 2023.
