BPCL organises programme on environment protection

JAMMU, May 4: On the occasion of ongoing Saksham 2023 fortnight, for awarness on Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG),Govt of India's initiatives on Energy Conservation through Net Zero emissions, Bharat Petroleum Corporation limited, LPG department organised a painting competition for the students at K.B. School,Channi Himmat Jammu with the Topic "Environment protection through Net Zero emissions" wherein Sandeep Kumar Raina Territory Manager LPG Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal areas was Chief guest.
Raina while speaking on the occasion explained the technical aspects of Net Zero emissions and world protocols, and how Bharat Gas is contributing towards the same. He said that maximum use of renewable energy is the need of the hour and every effort should be made by every one for Zero emission so that ecological balance is maintained.He said that if temperature will increase by even a bit like say 1 % its major impact would be there on ecological imbalance and by that the glaciers will start melting and its major impact would be there on sea shores besides other areas and would come in danger. He said that major target and focus of this year Saksham programme is net Zero emission and this could be achieved by collective efforts of all.
To encourage the students and to bring awareness Painting Kits & Certificates were distributed among the students.Sh Rakesh Verma represented Maa Vaishno Devi Bharat Gas and gave Safety tips to the Children.
School Principal Ms. Radhu Gupta gave Keynote to the students on the Topic . She while speaking on the occasion besides througing light on net Zero emission elaborated that KB Public School Jammu , was established by visionary late Dr. Masud A Choudhary (former A.D.G.P, founder BGSBU, founder GDCD) for the upliftment of marginalized section of society especially for Schedule tribe / Gujjar community . The school caters to 1400 students upto class 12th and the major focus of the school amangement is towards environment protection.
The children were encouraged with the event and made innovative paintings to highlight the need for Environment Conservation and efforts towards Net Zero.
It is worth while to mention here that top 3 students of these Saksham programmes will be awarded in a joint closing ceremony going to be organised by IOCL/HPCL/BPCL jointly on 8th May.
