NIA raids 6 locations in Kishtwar, mobile phones, documents seized

Kishtwar, Apr 4: In a terror funds related case linked to banned Jamat e Islami outfit along with their links to OGWs & secessionists elements , NIA sleuths today conducted raids at several places in Kishtwar which include the houses of 2 government teacher, Ex Hizb commander, father-son duo affiliated with Hurriyat & Ex HM Militant turned Hurriyat leader & an NGO that continues for several hours.
As per the details available with Early Times, multiple NIA teams accompanied by the Magistrates deputed by the District Administration assisted by local police & CRPF begin the raids as early at 5 Am on Thursday which continues till late afternoon at few places.
The official sources told Early Times that the raids were conducted in the house of Abdul Kabir Zargar R/o Ward. 4 Kishtwar, Ex HM Militant commander who surrender at Batote over two decades ago, Government teacher Rashid Gilkar son of Mushtaq Ahmed Gilkar R/o Ward No. 6 Jamia Mohallah Kishtwar, Zia Ul Haq Mintoo R/o Ward No 3 of Kishtwar, also a government teacher with Jamat links, Farooq Ahmad Dev son of Majeed Dev, Ex Militant and a radicalised hard liner secessionist R/o Ward No. 6 Kishtwar, Khurshid Bagban, former separatist leader & his son Naseer Ahmed Bagban, a social & political activist both R/o Ward No. 12 of Kishtwar.
The NIA beside searches the house of father son duo also search their hotel complex situated at Bus Stand in the heart of Kishtwar Town.
NIA also scrutinises the record of NGO Hilal Healthcare Society, run by the younger son of Khurshid Bagban.
Naseer Bagban told Early Times that neither he nor his father had any affiliation with the banned Jamat e Islami added that they had fully cooperated with the visiting NIA team beside also share the details whatever sought by the NIA including the bank account details of him and his family beside the tax documents related work and taxes paid by him as a contractor. He said that NIA find nothing adverse from them. He said that whenever NIA called them, they will happily visit to them and will cooperate with any sought of investigation.
Meanwhile during the raids NIA teams seized mobile phones of Ex Surrender Hizb Militant Abdul Kabir Zargar & Government teacher Zia ul Haq Mintoo, beside seized some land documents, bank passbooks, some donation collection receipts were seized and also collect their bank details as well as that of their family members.
However two NIA teams who rush to Chatroo area of Kishtwar District which some 30 KM from District HQ return back after team fail to locate the exact locations of the houses of those people to be raided in connection with the ongoing probe.
The sources told Early Times that more people affiliated with the Jamat e Islami and secessionist groups are on the radar NIA and other agencies keeping an eye on terror and its related activities in J&K.
