Step mother arrested for gruesome murder of 2 year old girl in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, May 5: In a tragic and shameful incident, District Police Kishtwar worked out a sensational murder case of a two year girl in village Keshwan and arrested the step mother of the minor girl for murdering her brutally beside also seize the weapon of offence on the disclosure of the accused woman.
As per the details available with Early Times, on 5-5-2023, Kishtwar Police received report from one Ruksana Begum W/o Mohammad Amin R/o Village Keshwan about missing of her minor daughter (age-2 years) who was last seen with her step mother on 4-5-2023 added that the family members searched for duo but could neither trace the missing girl nor her step mother namely Zahida Begum.
"Based upon complaint of family members, FIR No: 100/2023 U/s 363 IPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation taken up" senior police officials told Early Times.
Subsequently SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal constituted a special investigation team under charge of Ashish Gupta, Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar, Inspector Abid Hussain SHO Kishtwar and Vikram Singh SI Incharge Police Post, Thakrie.
The Police team arrested the suspect lady namely Zahida Begum who during course of sustained interrogation admitted to have committed murder of minor girl and dumped the body of deceased in the forest area.
Accordingly the Police team based upon disclosure of accused, recovered the body of the minor girl along with the weapon of offence.
Assistance of FSL, team being taken for collection of evidences on scientific lines beside body of the deceased brought to the District Hospital Kishtwar for conducting autopsy.
Following the recovery of the dead body of the minor girl, Section 302 of IPC has been added in the list of alleged offences.
Motive behind commission of murder being ascertained by the investigation agency and as per the preliminary investigation, the accused women to settle her enmity with the mother of minor girl, she killed the child. Prompt action of Police is being widely appreciated by the people who demanded strict action against the women who murdered the minor girl.
