Early Times Report

Jammu, May 31: The Shri Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society (MKBJYWS) expressed their heartfelt thanks to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support in making the annual pilgrimage a grand success. The yatra, held at the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Tullmulla, Ganderbal district, concluded smoothly on May 28.
During a press conference, MKBJYWS President Kiran Wattal praised the excellent arrangements made for the yatra. He mentioned that over 25,000 pilgrims had darshans (sightings) of the holy goddess and were satisfied with the security and other necessary arrangements.
Wattal also highlighted the importance of developing the Mata Kheer Bhawani corridor in the valley, similar to the Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakaal corridors, as a significant contribution from the J&K and central governments towards the revival of Hindu shrines in the region.
The society extended their gratitude to various officials and organizations, including the divisional commissioner, ADGP, directorate of tourism, relief & rehabilitation commissioner, and Dharmarth Trust for their valuable contributions in ensuring the success of the yatra.
Wattal acknowledged the historic participation of over 25,000 people in the annual fair and appreciated the Ramban district administration for organizing a bhandara (community feast) for the pilgrims during their halt in Ramban town.
He also thanked the volunteers of MKBJYWS for their tireless efforts in assisting the administrations of Ramban and Ganderbal districts and ensuring the proper implementation of necessary arrangements.
Although there were initial accommodation issues for the pilgrims upon reaching Tullmulla, the Ganderbal district administration promptly resolved the matter with the assistance of the divisional administration, ADGP (Kashmir), and ADGP (security), along with MKBJYWS volunteers.
Special thanks were given to the home secretary for personally visiting the shrine to oversee the arrangements.
Representatives from various organizations and committees, along with pilgrims, attended the joint press conference to express their gratitude and support.
The Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra is an important pilgrimage for Hindus, and an annual fair is held at the Tullmulla temple to pay homage to the goddess.
Pilgrims from different parts of the country, including Kashmiri Pandits, Jammu Dogras, and Hindus, visit the shrine on the eve of the annual fair, which takes place on Jesth Ashtami.
