KVK concludes certificate course on Integrated nutrient management

REASI, June 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, in collaboration with SKUAST-Jammu, recently concluded a comprehensive 15-day Certificate Course on "Integrated Nutrient Management." The course, held at the KVK Reasi campus, attracted numerous input dealers from Udhampur and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The participants benefitted from a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, as well as field visits.
The esteemed Directorate of Extension, led by Prof. S. K Gupta of SKUAST-Jammu, provided valuable guidance and support throughout the program. The chief guest, Prof. S.K Gupta, emphasized the importance of Integrated Farming and congratulated the participants on successfully completing the course. He commended KVK Reasi for its dedicated efforts in uplifting the farming community.
B.K Mahajan, Former District Agriculture Officer, Udhampur, graced the event as the guest of honor. In his address, he shed light on the acts, rules, and regulations pertaining to agricultural inputs, and elaborated on the application process for obtaining licenses for input dealers.
Dr. Banarsi Lal, Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Reasi, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and encouraged the participants to make the most of such training courses to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Throughout the 15-day program, resource persons from KVK Reasi, Doda, Poonch, the main campus at Chatha, SKUAST Jammu, and the Department of Agriculture, Reasi, shared their expertise on topics such as soil management, organic agriculture, soil testing, storage and handling of agro-inputs, and ethical practices in the agricultural business.
The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees. Dr. Lobzang Stanzen highlighted the efficient use of manures and fertilizers, while Dr. Arvinder Kumar discussed the importance of balanced fertilizer application for optimal crop yields. The successful execution of the program was made possible with the assistance of Manohar Lal, Mohd. Iqbal, and Sanjay Kumar.
Dr. Suja Nabi Qureshi, a scientist, delivered the formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for their active involvement in making the course a resounding succes.
