ANANTNAG, June 6: Minister of State and Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, announced that the Press Club in Anantnag will be established soon. She made this announcement during an interaction with media persons and social media influencers in South Kashmir, organized by the BJP to commemorate the completion of nine years of the Modi government at the Centre. The event was attended by MP Rajya Sabha G A Khatana and other local party representatives. Dr Andrabi expressed her gratitude to the media for their support in disseminating information about the constitutional and political changes in J&K, which have ushered in an era of peace and development. She acknowledged the significant role played by the media in highlighting the restoration of peace and sharing the true stories of Kashmir's development with the world. Dr Andrabi also thanked the media for their coverage of the G20 international event in Srinagar, which showcased the positive aspects of the region.
Recognizing the media as the fourth pillar of democracy, Dr Andrabi emphasized the need to strengthen genuine media platforms. Responding to the long-standing demand of the press fraternity in South Kashmir, she announced that a piece of land would be provided for the establishment of a Press Club in Anantnag. She urged media professionals to go the extra mile in portraying the stories of J&K's development and growth after a prolonged period of destruction. Dr Andrabi highlighted the progress and developmental achievements of J&K under the efficient administration of the Lieutenant Governor.
Overall, the interaction aimed to foster better communication and cooperation between the government and the media in promoting the positive narrative of J&K's transformation.
