| Educate people about UCC, expose Cong: BJP high command tells its leaders | | |

Jammu, July 5: Notwithstanding the stand taken by some political parties, BJP high command has directed party leadership of different states and UT to ‘properly educate’ people about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to expose Congress all over the country.
“We are going to organize workshops and lectures at the district level in different parts of Jammu province to educate the people about UCC”, a senior BJP leader, wishing anonymity, said, adding, “Our focus will be in the Hindu majority areas to expose Congress”.
“Apart from local leaders, high command will depute some central leaders to address these gatherings to allay apprehensions of people in different parts of Jammu region”, a source said, adding, “Party has already deputed some leaders to reach-out to different communities as part of the campaign to counter opposition’s propaganda”.
Sources said that BJP leadership is very much aware that UCC will help the party to consolidate its position in the Hindu majority areas.
On Wednesday, Senior Congress Leader Tariq Hameed Karra said that BJP’s new UCC (Uniform Civil Code) drama was being thrust into the country. He said that the desperation and haphazard behaviour of the BJP indicates the frustration that this party collectively carries with itself. In a blatant attempt to polarise the electorate, UCC-type tantrums are being pulled to divert people’s attention from real issues of significance to the common man of India. |
