Imran Ansari dares Omar Abdullah, NC keeps mum
7/5/2023 11:10:49 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 5: With the Peoples Conference frequently complaining that that National Conference would form next government in Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with the Bharatiya Janta Party, senior PC leader Imran Ansari has dared Omar Abdullah accusing the latter of double speak.
Stating that he was “Amazed at audaciousness” of Omar Abdullah, Ansari said, “What principles are you talking about. And how have other parties conceded Article and National Conference hasn’t. Could you please explain. What makes NC distinctive in waging a battle. Oh yeah. I forgot. Father boycotts parliament opening ceremony.
Son issues a tweet, commending the new parliament building. Son takes pot shots at the national opposition and the father jumps into the national opposition unity frame.”
“Let us not make August 5 2019 a joke. It was a crime against the people of Kashmir. And like every other crime in the past, your party had a role overtly or covertly. I personally see your party complicit in every atrocity committed against the people of Kashmir. Name one atrocity committed by the current BJP or the Congress, that your party has not be a party to or where your party has not been a full participant,” Ansari said.
Earlier Omar Abdullah had said, “This is the only difference between National Conference and other political parties. Other parties have already conceded defeat on restoration of Article 370. We want to get power. We will remain firm on our principles.”
Ansari on the other hand accused Abdullahs of being beggars. “The biggest surrender that I see in history is the surrender of 1975. When your party begged for a chief ministerial post without elections without being even an MLA. And signed on the infamous 1975 accord.“
“Have you not Killed Kashmiris in cold blood. Would you care to dig out the fatalities during 1996- 2002 and 2008-2014,” he added.
The NC didn’t respond to Ansari’s remarks. But a senior NC leader said on the condition of anonymity: “Peoples Conference comprises of turncoats who either changed parties or switched from mainstream to separatism and back!”
