Samba administration hosts Amawas festival at Purmandal-Utterbehni

SAMBA, July 16: Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma and SSP, Benam Tosh today reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Amawas festival at Purmandal-Utterbehni here at a meeting with the Stakeholders.
The Deputy Commissioner discussed in detail the arrangements for the festival being held tomorrow
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, Principal Government Degree College Purmandal, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), Chief Medical Officer and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Samba asked the Secretary J&K Dharmarth Trust to raise their issues /demands if any so that the same are resolved well before time.
The chair directed ARTO/Dy. SP (Traffic) Samba to make all necessary Traffic/ Transport related arrangements. The ARTO Samba, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) and Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Samba were asked to submit a traffic plan to SDM Vijaypur for smooth regulation of traffic in the area.
The Dy. SP (Traffic) was asked to deploy an adequate number of personnel to regulate the traffic to avoid congestion and smooth parking of vehicles at appropriate places during the entire Festival /Mela.
The XEN PHE Samba was asked to make provision of drinking water in and around the Temple area and at the parking site.
Executive Engineer, R&B Division Vijaypur and STD, Jammu was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to prevent any inconvenience during the celebration of Amawas
For the Security Arrangements, Samba Police was told to make appropriate deployment of security personnel and to utilise the services of NSS unit of Degree College Purmandal and the volunteers of Civil Defence in the premises of the temple.
Regarding Medical Arrangements, the Chief Medical officer, Samba was asked to deploy a team of Doctors and Paramedical staff in all dispensaries and hospitals 24 x 7 basis.
He was directed to arrange a First Aid Team along with one standby Ambulance and medical team in Purmandal /Utterbehani area where devotees are expected in large numbers.
The DC asked the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Samba to ensure the repair/ maintenance of the road leading to the Utterbehani/ Purmandal to avoid inconvenience to the general public and devotees on this occasion.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer was directed to enhance the number of buses during the Amawas festival particularly for Purmandal /Utterbehani and to ensure regulation of parking of vehicles/Buses at appropriate places.
The chair directed the Chief Executive Officer Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority to make arrangements for maintenance of the Toilet Complex under his control at Purmandal /Utterbehani Shrines. The Block Development Officer, Purmandal along with Executive Officer, Bari Brahmana were given the responsibility to maintain sanitation in the Purmandal /Utterbehani area. The EOs were entrusted with the job to maintain sanitation in Utterbehani /Purmandal Shrine. EO, Bari Brahmana was asked to deploy the adequate numbers of Safai Karamcharis at the festival /Mela for cleanliness operations especially in Purmandal /Utterbehani area.
Tehsildar Bari Brahmana was nominated as the magistrate for the entire festival.
For ensuring fire safety, the Divisional Fire Officers, Fire and Emergency Services Samba were asked to keep standby fire tenders at Utterbehani /Purmandal i.e. 24x7 during the celebration of Amawas festivals 2023, directed the chair.
