Civil Defence launches 5-day training program for life-saving skills

JAMMU, July 17 In line with the directives of the Directorate of Home Guards, Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Jammu and Kashmir, a five-day Civil Defence training program was inaugurated at Central Sanskarit University in Kot Balwal, Jammu. The program is being conducted under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy.SP) Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence in Jammu, who also graced the event as the chief guest.
The training camp aims to equip 104 students from the university with essential Civil Defence skills, including first aid and fire-fighting techniques, snake bite and choking management, and other basic life-saving measures during natural or man-made disasters. Experienced Civil Defence experts will lead the training, imparting valuable knowledge and preventive measures.
During the inaugural session, Dy.SP Anita Pawar delivered an insightful lecture, emphasizing the crucial role of Civil Defence and the significance of the training. She stressed that this training holds immense benefits for individuals in their daily lives.
Sh. Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden of Civil Defence in Jammu, also shed light on the organization's structure, particularly highlighting the important role played by wardens within the Civil Defence framework. Professor Joginder Dixshit concluded the program by expressing gratitude on behalf of the university.

Through this training program, Civil Defence Jammu aims to equip participants with vital life-saving skills and create a more resilient community in the face of emergencies.
