Jammu police seizes 20 grams of heroin, arrests four peddlers

Jammu, July 17: In its ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved a significant success by recovering 20 grams of heroin from three individuals in the areas under the jurisdiction of PS Satwari, PP Phallain Mandal, PS Bishnah, and PP Bathindi.
During a naka (checkpoint) duty at Babliana, a police team from PS Satwari apprehended a suspected person coming from Dharp to Satwari. Upon search, 5 grams of heroin was found in his possession. The accused, identified as Mohd. Usman Mir, was arrested.
In a separate incident, a naka was set up in the jurisdiction of PP Phallain Mandal, where another police team apprehended a suspected person named Yasir Ali. Upon search, 6 grams of heroin was recovered from him. The accused was arrested.
Similarly, in a different operation, a police team from PS Bishnah apprehended a suspected person named Naresh Kumar during a naka duty. A search of his possession led to the recovery of 3 grams of heroin. The accused was subsequently arrested.
Additionally, a police team from PP Bathindi rounded up a suspected person named Rohit Kumar during a naka duty, and a search yielded 6 grams of heroin. The accused was arrested.
The Jammu Police is actively working to dismantle drug supply chains in the region. Thorough questioning of the arrested individuals is underway to determine the origin of the drug supply chain.
Jammu Police is dedicated to eradicating the drug menace and raising awareness, particularly among the youth. They urge people to come forward and share any information regarding drug peddling or consumption by contacting the police at 9086100100 or 100. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
