Animal Husbandry Deptt Kishtwar organises Mega Awareness camp at Gulabgarh-Paddar

KISHTWAR, July 19: In continuation to the information Dissemination and Promotional activities, an Awareness Camp was organized today by the Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar at Gulabgarh Paddar.
PRIs and more than 200 animal breeders, including female farmers participated in the camp.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen was the main campaigner of the event. He was accompanied by Dr. Arif Shah (MVO), Dr. Rahul Verma (PEO) and other staff of the concerned Veterinary Centers including Dr. Azzaz Asgar (VAS) and Dr. Suneel Singh (VAS).
The CAHO imparted awareness to the participants about the ongoing Holistic Agriculture Development Plan and educated them about the flagship schemes of the Department like Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS), Intensive Poultry Development Program (IPDP)etc.
Dr. Sen urged the educated unemployed youth to come forward and avail benefits of these schemes to generate livelihood for themselves and others too.
The local public was also apprised about the benefits of Artificial Insemination (Frozen semen Technology) and Sex Sorted Semen (SSS) scheme for genetic upgrading of the local cattle breed.
The local public was informed about the availability of Sex Sorted frozen semen technology in the nearby Veterinary Centers for Artificial Insemination.
To boost the local milk production of their animals, the farmers were given free of cost medicines, mineral mixtures, calcium supplements, Dewormers in addition to vaccination and the general treatment. They were also educated about different beneficial schemes of the Department like KCC, Livestock Insurance etc. The people were asked to co-operate & get themselves benefitted by various schemes of the Department.
The public Representative of the village appreciated the efforts put forth by the Department in uplifting the socio- economic status of the public and further asked the Department that full co-operation shall be extended for achieving the benefits extended under different schemes by the Department & requested to conduct such camps in future as well.
