Early Times Report

RAMBAN, July 31: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of line departments to review preparedness for executing the activity plan regarding celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav themed-”Meri Maati Mera Desh”.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal, CEO, Dev Anand, ACD, Ashok Singh Katoch while BDOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting through virtual Mode. Discussing the activities for celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav themed “Meri Maati Mera Desh”, the DC said that this year, the focus of the celebrations will be on “Veero Ko Naman” and “Veero Ka Vandan”. Local veers (heroes) will be felicitated to acknowledge their contribution towards the country. The families of the freedom fighters will also be felicitated as a mark of respect and gratitude towards their sacrifices. In consonance with the theme “Meri Maati Mera Desh”, a “Mitti Yatra” will be taken out from each Panchayat to the national capital. The yatra will symbolize the connection between the land and its people and will mark India’s independence.
The officers also discussed the need for outreach sessions with the heads of each panchayat and other stakeholders to leverage mitti diyas and kalash. All government buildings and institutions will take the Panch Pran pledge with participation of local leaders. A memorial pledge will be constructed in and around Amrit Sarovar, where water bodies are available, to honor the country’s freedom fighters. The DC emphasized the need to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in a grand manner while ensuring the safety of all participants. In addition, saplings will be planted at each panchayat to promote environmental conservation, he added.
