8/6/2023 10:03:48 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 6: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh has opposed the smart meter installation and enhancement in new tariff rate on consumers as proposed by the electrical department and placed before the JK Electricity Regulatory Authority for approval . BMS alleged that officials are have hands in gloves and are responsible giving free access to illegal consumers otherwise old meters are also worth whiles and installing smart meters have no logic till all the consumers are covered with proper connections and the main plea is being taken by the govt that there is huge gap between the revenue collection and expanses on purchasing of power it is pertinent to mention here that in Jammu Kashmir there is line and distribution losses is too much as compare to rest of the country and by revising the tariff rates how much Govt can fetch and further it will put burden on the already rent paying consumers it is therefore demanded that instead of revising the tariff rates department officials should be made accountable for line loss and all the consumers should be given proper connections and those who never pays electricity charges must be compelled to take connections and those who do not pay rent with the hope of free bees must be asked pay arrears in instalments and whatever revenue govt want to increase can generate easily from the defaulters and poor working class, small formers and unorganised sector workers is unable to bear extra burden on this account and will get some relief and industry which is already reeling under slow down shall be saved from this unwanted extra burden said.
