Tiranga rally witnesses overwhelming response, participation at Awantipora

PULWAMA, Aug 11: As part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav' and under 'Meri Maati, Mera Desh' campaign, a massive Tringa Rally was today organised at Awantipora, Pulwama.
The rally witnessed massive participation of over 30,000 people including all stakeholders.
The rally was flagged-off by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom during a grand ceremony held at DPL Awantipora. The Sub-Divisional Administration Awantipora and Tral coordinated the event and Officers and staff from Administration also participated in the event.
The rally started from the District Police lines Awantipora and passed through the main town Awantipora and culminated at the Gates of Islamic University of Science & technology (IUST) Awantipora. Participants were carrying the national flag and were enthusiastic about their participation in the grand rally.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the idea behind the campaign of 'Meri Maati, Mera Desh' in general and Tiranga yatra in particular, is to instill the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and reminisce the journey of India and those who have contributed towards creating this great nation.
The DC said that in connection with the 'Meri Maati, Mera Desh' campaign, multiple events are being organised in the district and many more Tiranga rallies will be held in coming days. He further informed that on 12th August one mega Tiranga rally is scheduled at DPL Pulwama and urged everyone to be part of the grand rally to cherish the ones who made our independence possible.
Dr Basharat congratulated people for their enthusiasm and commitment and urged them to participate wholeheartedly in the upcoming events of 'Meri Maati, Mera Desh' programme.
SSP Awantipora, Aijaz Ahmad Zargar; ADC Awantipora, Zaffar Ahmad Shawl; ADC Tral, Sajid Yehaya Naqash and Cmdt. CRPF 130 Btl., Rajiv Yadav among others participated in the rally.
