Indian Army carries out plantation in village Pallanwala under “Meri Maati Mera Desh” initiative

Khour, Aug 11: Indian Army under the aegis of Crossed Swords Division carried out a Plantation Drive with the Panchayat and the School Authorities of the Border Village Pallanwala on 10 August 23.
This joint initiative reflected the commitment of the Indian Army towards environmental preservation and community engagement. Under the banner of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” initiative, the Plantation Drive aimed to fortify the connection between the villagers and their homeland. With a strong focus on raising awareness about ecological importance, the event witnessed the planting saplings. The active participation of the Indian Army Vilaage Sarpanch and Teachers and Students of Village High School exemplified the collective responsibility to nurture and protect the environment. The Plantation Drive extended beyond the mere act of planting trees. It served as a platform for the Indian Army to connect with the local community, especially the youth, students and residents of the border area. This interaction not only underscored the significance of environmental stewardship but also inspired the younger generation to take ownership of the green legacy of their region.
