NC dares Apni Party
8/17/2023 10:59:22 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 17: For the first time in the recent past, the National Conference has openly dared Apni Party saying that the political workers associated with Altaf Bukhari’s party have joined the NC.
The NC issued a formal statement saying that hundreds of Bukhari’s party-workers joined the grand old party in presence of former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and other senior leaders.
“Hundreds of political workers from Sagam Dooru, who were associated with Apni Party, were warmly welcomed into JKNC by Party VP Omar Abdullah in an event held at party office, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar,” the NC said.
The NC said the event was jointly coordinated by District President, Anantnag Altaf Kaloo and Incharge Dooru Syed Towkeer.
It’s for the first time in the recent times that the NC has openly claimed to have got workers from Apni Party. Otherwise, the NC would avoid naming the Apni Party.
Recently, on August 14, the Apni Party had organized a function to welcome Late Qazi Mohammad Afzal’s son, Qazi Umar Farooq, and his associates into the Apni Party fold.
Pertinently late Qazi represented the Ganderbal constituency in the legislative assembly from 2002 to 2008, defeating the National Conference’s then chief ministerial candidate, Omar Abdullah that time.
Extending greetings to the new entrants into the Apni Party fold, Altaf Bukhari had expressed his optimism about Qazi Farooq’s potential to become a prominent figure in Ganderbal, following in the footsteps of his father, and gathering substantial public support in the days to come.
He said: “I wholeheartedly welcome Qazi Farooq and his supporters to the party, and I am sure that their joining will not only strengthen our party cadre in Ganderbal further but also ensure dedicated service to the local population. The party leadership will provide all the necessary support to the new entrants to serve the people well in their area.”
Observer said the function hosted by the NC was a “political reply to Bukhari.”
