Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 17: Two weeks after spokesman of the National Conference called former Chief Minister and supremo of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad as a “liar” for owning Kapil Sibal, the former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad shared a picture with the eminent lawyer to counter’s NC propaganda.
Azad shared picture with Kapil Sibal at a time when leaders of the Kashmir centric parties namely the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peoples’ Conference at camping at New Delhi to give an impression to the public that they are fighting legal battle against the abrogation of Article 370.
During the last one week, leaders of these parties are addressing media from New Delhi, especially outside the Supreme Court, to create an impression that they are themsleves pursuing on going arguments in the Apex Court against the abrogation of the Article 370 and 35-A.
After watching activities of these party, Ghulam Nabi Azad today shared picture with Kapil Sibal to counter campaign of these parties.
“ Democratic Progressive Azad Party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad hailed MP and distinguished SC lawyer Kabil Sibal for defending Article 370 in Supreme Court. Azad met Sibal in New Delhi and had one hour long meeting to discuss regarding the issue”, an official handout issued by DPAP reads.
Azad told Sibal “You presented the case of Article 370 very articulately, you were roaring like a lion,”.
Maintaining that he is hopeful of positive outcome from the Supreme Court, Azad said that whatever the arguments Sibal presented in court was representing the emotions, and aspirations of the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir. “Mr Sibal became the voice of voiceless people who were snatched their political rights am I am hopeful now Supreme Court will do the justice with the people of UT and return their rights back with dignity,” he said.
Azad said that his fight to secure the political and economic rights of the people of UT will continue.
Important mention here that on August 4, the spokesperson of NC indirectly called Ghulam Nabi Azad as a liar to stake a wrong claim on Kipal Sibal who is arguing in the Supreme Court against the abrogation of Article 370.
Within minutes after DPAP chief Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed his gratitude towards Kapil Sibal for effectively taking up the case of Article 370 in the Supreme Court, a spokesman of NC leader attacked Azad for “speaking a lie”
“Ghulam Nabi Azad is neither a petitioner nor an applicant in Art 370 case. Kapil Sibal is not his councel. Except for a brief call to Sibal, DPAP has made no substantial effort to participate in the proceedings. He’s appearing on behalf of our party MP Mohammad Akbar Lone”, spokesperson of J&K NC Imran Nabi Dar said.
