Early Times Report
DODA, Aug 23: In a significant move aimed at maintaining public order, District Magistrate Doda, Vishesh Mahajan has issued an order for the detention of an individual under the J&K Public Safety Act 1978 on the basis of the dossier prepared by the district police against him. The decision comes in response to persistent concerns regarding the individual's involvement in a series of unlawful and criminal activities, posing a threat to the peace and tranquility of the region. The order, based on a thorough review of a dossier submitted by the Senior Superintendent of Police, reveals a disturbing pattern of behaviour of the individual, including his involvement in theft, illegal bovine smuggling, and drug peddling. The individual's activities have not only led to a heightened sense of insecurity among local residents but have also raised communal tensions in this sensitive district. Despite previous encounters with the law, the individual continued to escalate his involvement in criminal activities, particularly in drug peddling, posing a severe risk to the well-being of the district's youth and society at large. This consistent engagement in criminal behaviour left the authorities with no choice but to invoke the J&K Public Safety Act to ensure the safety and peaceful coexistence of all citizens in the district.
