GDC Sidhra Inspires Constitutional Awareness with Speech on Fundamental Rights

Jammu, Nov 18: In commemoration of Constitution Day, the Department of Political Science at GDC Sidhra organized a speech programme aimed at fostering awareness about Fundamental Rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
The event, conducted under the theme “My Constitution My Pride,” sought to educate students about the significance and intricacies of these rights.
The programme commenced with a formal introduction by Dr. Meesha Bhagat, highlighting the essentiality of Fundamental Rights in the Indian Constitution. Avid Ansari, a third-semester student, took the stage to deliver a comprehensive speech on the historical background of Fundamental Rights.
He provided insightful information about the nature and types of Fundamental Rights incorporated in the Indian Constitution, emphasizing their fundamental nature and the reasons behind their inclusion.
Ansari delved into the purpose of incorporating Fundamental Rights, shedding light on the basic intricacies of each right and the procedures involved in their enforcement and protection as Constitutional Guarantees. His speech aimed not only to inform but also to inspire a deeper understanding of the legal foundations that safeguard citizens’ rights.
The event concluded with a formal discussion among students, focusing on recent cases related to the protection of Fundamental Rights and the proactive role of the judiciary.
Dr. Meesha Bhagat, with the coordination of Dr. Harpreet Kour, HOD, Political Science, orchestrated the successful event under the guidance of the esteemed Principal, Dr. B.B Anand.
The initiative showcased the commitment of GDC Sidhra to providing students with a platform for intellectual discourse and a deeper understanding of the principles that underpin the Indian Constitution.
Through such programs, the college aims to instill a sense of pride and responsibility among students towards their constitutional rights.
