Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Hosts 31st National Children’s Science Congress

Jammu, Nov 18: In its ongoing commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence, Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, proudly hosted the 31st National Children’s Science Congress on November 18, 2023. The event aimed at fostering a deeper interest in science among children, encouraging innovation, and promoting sustainable living.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Education Officer Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore, Deputy Chief Education Officer Mr. A.K. Raina, and various members of the National Children’s Science Congress, such as Dr. Ashaq Hussian, Chairman NCSC Jammu, Mr. Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator NCSC Jammu, and Mr. Zaffar Ullah Khan, State Coordinator, NCSC Jammu.
The program commenced with the lighting of lamps and the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge. School Principal Shri Rameshwar Mengi, School Head Master Mr. Harish Sharma, Director of Pushp Vatika Mr. Rasheek Mengi, and the teachers warmly welcomed the guests with badges.
Chief Guests Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore and Mr. A.K. Raina, along with other dignitaries, were presented with bouquets and mementos as a token of appreciation. Dr. Ashaq Hussian delivered an enlightening speech, emphasizing the importance of science in daily life and highlighting the theme of the congress, “Science for Sustainable Living.”
Cultural presentations by students of SNS Jeevan Nagar added vibrancy to the event, showcasing the school’s multifaceted talents. Mr. A.K. Raina lauded the zeal for learning exhibited by today’s generation and commended the transformative impact of such events on students’ aspirations.
CEO Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore shared insights on the role of students in the field of science and emphasized environmental conservation. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
Worthy Principal Shri Rameshwar Mengi interacted with the media, guests, teachers, and students, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. He encouraged students to be motivated by the event, believing that it would send a positive message to society about the importance of science. The principal focused on the theme “Science for Sustainable Living,” underscoring its relevance in today’s context.
The subsequent display of projects by students from different schools further enriched the scientific atmosphere, fostering a spirit of inquiry and innovation among the young minds.
