Civil Defence conducts one-day awareness program at IG Govt Dental College

Jammu, Nov 18: Civil Defence Jammu organized a one-day Awareness-cum-demonstration program at Indra Gandhi Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Amphalla, Jammu. The event, supervised by Dy. SP Anita Pawar, witnessed the participation of 100 faculty members, para-medical staff, para-dental staff, and security and sanitation staff.
The program focused on imparting knowledge about First Aid, Firefighting, CPR, and other improvised emergency rescue methods. Civil Defence experts conducted demonstrations on these topics, providing practical insights into the preventive measures during road accidents and various disasters, whether natural or manmade.
Dy. SP Anita Pawar delivered a valuable lecture on Disaster Management, highlighting the crucial role and importance of the Civil Defence organization. The aim was to raise awareness among staff members and equip them with the necessary skills to handle emergencies effectively.
Dr. Rakesh Krishan Gupta, Principal & Dean of Indra Gandhi Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Jammu, commended the role of Civil Defence in spreading awareness about disaster management. The collaboration between Civil Defence and the medical institution reflects a commitment to preparedness and safety.
The event was graced by the presence of Sh. Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden CD Jammu, Sh. R. Vijay Magotra, Dy. Chief Warden CD Jammu, Dr. Azhar Malik, Professor & HOD, PG Deptt. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics IGGDC, Jammu, Sh. Vinod Kumar, Sub. Inspector I/C CD Trainings, and other doctors and staff from IGGDC, Jammu.
The one-day awareness program served as a crucial initiative to strengthen emergency preparedness among the hospital staff. The practical training provided by Civil Defence experts contributes to creating a safer and more resilient environment, ensuring that the medical community is well-equipped to handle unforeseen challenges.
