ASCOMS hosts second Dr. Ritu Gupta lecture on stress management, academic excellence

Jammu, Dec 11: A collaborative effort between the Dr. Ritu Gupta Foundation and Acharya Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital (ASCOMS), the second Dr. Ritu Gupta Lecture took place. The event attracted a significant audience, including faculty, staff, and students from various Medical and Dental Colleges across Jammu province.
• Inaugurated by Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal/Dean, Govt. Medical College Jammu.
• Special guests included Ms. Babila Rakwal, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Jammu; Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Director Health Services, Jammu; Shri D.K Batra, Secretary ASCOMS; and Dr. Gautam Mengi, Joint Secretary ASCOMS.
• Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of academic activities in medical curriculum.
• Highlighted the organizational capabilities and passion for academic activities of Dr. Ritu Gupta, describing her as an epitome of humbleness and dedication towards medical teaching.
• Dr. Amarjeet Singh Bhatia, Principal, Govt. Medical College, Rajouri, spoke on stress and the power of positive attitude.
• Dr. Avneet Sharma, Senior Consultant, Psychiatry, National Health Service, United Kingdom, provided insights into stress and compared situations in India and the UK.
• Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta, Prof & HOD Pediatrics, and Chairman, Dr. Ritu Gupta Foundation, outlined various activities initiated by the foundation for the benefit of the masses.
• Toppers in Physiology from different Medical colleges were felicitated, along with recognition for HODs in Physiology from respective colleges.
• Ms. Urvi Gupta, Dr. Ritu Gupta’s daughter, presented a small presentation about the life of Dr. Ritu Gupta.
• Mrs. Babila Rakwal emphasized the importance of stress management in the student community and highlighted the role of parents and counselors in managing stress in young individuals.
• Dr. Ashutosh Gupta praised the efforts of Dr. Ritu Gupta Foundation and ASCOMS, recognizing the importance of such academic activities for students’ development.
• Commended the speakers for their presentations and suggested organizing more events for different Medical and Dental Colleges.
• Mr. Suresh Jandial, former Executive Director (ONGC) and brother-in-law of Dr. Ritu Gupta, highlighted the importance of organ donation, a cause embraced by Dr. Ritu Gupta.
• Mr. Suresh Jandial concluded the event by presenting the vote of thanks.
The Second Dr. Ritu Gupta Lecture served as a platform for insightful discussions on stress management, academic excellence, and the legacy of Dr. Ritu Gupta.
