JU organizes interaction session for Viksit Bharat@2047, NAAC/NIRF preparations

JAMMU, Jan 1: The University of Jammu organized an interactive session focused on Viksit Bharat@2047 and preparations for the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu on the occasion said that the various steps have been taken by the University to promote the culture of skills, innovation, Research and development. Prof Rai further said that the University is committed to educational excellence which aligns with the national vision of a developed India by 2047. The interactive session was a testament to the collective determination of educational institutions to meet and exceed the standards set by NAAC and NIRF." said the Vice-Chancellor.
Prof Meena Sharma, Dean Planning and in charge, Dean Academic Affairs exuded that the University of Jammu for the last two years has been getting unprecedented support and handholding from the UT Jammu & Kashmir Government. She further said that various infrastructure projects which have been sanctioned are underway and soon work will start on those projects, especially the prestigious innovation tower, shooting range etc.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies called upon the teaching faculty to promote quality research in all domains and all disciplines and take forward in such a stride that we can convey that Multidisciplinarity, Interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity are what Jammu University is heading towards. Prof Rohmetra talked in detail about various initiatives which the Office of Dean Research Studies is envisioning to take forward in days to come. Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Director, Distance Education and Online Education & Convener, Viksit Bharat @2047 Campaign, JU underlined the vision laid down by Sh Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister regarding Viksit Bharat @2047 aimed at to outline the path for the development and progress of India by the year 2047. The University of Jammu received an unprecedented response from its students while registering them actively on the Viksit Bharat @2047 portal, said Prof Srivastava. Prof Srivastava further said that over 3624 students have actively participated, sharing their visionary ideas to contribute towards the realization of India as a developed nation by 2047. He informed that during this period, the University organized various events including poetry recitation competitions, marathons, group discussions, quizzes, nukkad Nataks and essay writing competions etc on the theme aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Dr Ginny Dogra, I/C Director, DIOA emphasized on various contours of NAAC and NIRF and about the Preparations University is undertaking for the forthcoming NAAC visit to the University.Dr Garima Gupta, Head, Department of Journalism and Media Studies conducted the proceedings of the function.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was also present on the occasion.
Prominent among those present on occasion were Prof Rahul Gupta, Registrar, University of Jammu, Prof Rajiv Rattan, Director, College Development Council, Sh Sanjeev Mahajan, Controller of Examinations, Deans, Rectors, Heads of various Campus Departments, Directors, faculty members, Officers, Office bearers of various associations of University.
