AEP refresher training conducted

UDHAMPUR, Jan 1: In a collaborative effort between the Directorate of School Education Jammu and the Jammu Kashmir Aids Control Society (JKACS), a one-day refresher training under the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) was organized at the Chief Education Office in Udhampur. Supervised by Chief Education Officer Geetu Bangotra, the training saw enthusiastic participation from 82 lecturers, masters, and teachers representing fifty Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) and High Schools (HS) across all eleven zones.
The Worthy Chief Education Officer, Udhampur inaugurated the refresher training, addressing the participants on the importance of imparting various life skills to adolescence children. She encouraged the implementation of learned skills through a house system in schools, emphasizing the significant impact such orientation sessions could have on adolescence students.
Resource persons Renu Kotwal, Suman Lata, and D. Vinod Bhardwaj conducted the training using well-planned presentations, covering essential contents of the programme with special emphasis on mental health and sexual abuse awareness. A pre-test and post-test were administered to assess the participants' knowledge and sensitivity to the issues discussed.
Rakesh Singh DRG, the course coordinator, ensured the smooth coordination of the entire training programme. Refreshments were provided as per schedule, contributing to the overall positive experience for the participants. The training concluded with feedback from the participants, expressing satisfaction with the programme's content and delivery.
Chief Education Officer Geetu Bangotra, along with Assistant Director Darshan Kumar, distributed participating certificates to the trainees, marking the successful conclusion of the AEP refresher training. The collaborative efforts of the Directorate of School Education Jammu and JKACS reflect a commitment to enhancing the quality of education and addressing crucial aspects of adolescence education.
