Shiksha Niketan holds Annual Day celebration

JAMMU, Feb 3: In a spectacular showcase of cultural richness and academic excellence, Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School (SNSSS), Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, celebrated its "55th Annual Day-Cum-Prize Distribution" with unparalleled zest and vibrancy. The event took place at the esteemed General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University, on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
A galaxy of distinguished dignitaries and celebrities graced the occasion, making it a memorable milestone celebration for the school. Padma Bhushan Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad, a political genius and former Chief Minister of J&K State, was the chief guest. The event also saw the presence of spiritual personalities, educationists, and renowned figures who have made significant contributions at regional and national levels.
The celebration kicked off with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, presiding guest, and other revered guests, setting a tone of auspiciousness for the evening. The program featured a colourful cultural performance by the students, revolving around the theme "NAVRAS," showcasing various Ras (emotions) through dance and music.
The highlight of the event was the presence of distinguished personalities such as Padma Shree Balwant Singh Thakur, Padma Shree Romalo Ramji, Padma Shree Kashi Nath Pandita, Padma Shree Mohan Singh, and Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi, who paid heartfelt tributes to the late Dev Dutt Mengi, the Founder Principal of Shiksha Niketan.
The chief guest, Ghulam Nabi Azad, delivered a long but impressive speech, acknowledging the school's contributions to social and educational development. The presiding guests and other dignitaries praised the school management and administrative staff for their untiring efforts in shaping the students into enlightened, responsible, and progressive citizens.
The event also witnessed the inauguration of the school's newsletter "Bagisha" by the chief guests and committee members. Prizes and awards were distributed to meritorious students, reinforcing the school's tradition of appreciating and encouraging academic and extracurricular achievements.
