Modi Govt confers national awards only to deserving personalities: Kavinder

JAMMU, Feb 3: Kavinder Gupta, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister has welcomed the conferring of Bharat Ratna Award on the stalwart national leader L.K. Advani.
In this regard, a function was held at Party Headquarters in which the senior party leaders and workers lauded the Modi government for conferring Bharat Ratna Award to the veteran leader. Prominent among those who were present include Member Parliament Gulam Ali Khatana, Rekha Mahajan, District President , Sham Choudhary ex minister, Vikram Randhawa Ex MLC, Ayodhya Gupta, Aakash Chopra, Pushpinder, Narinder Koki, Shailja Gupta, Bharat Bhushan, Rahul Kumar, Rachit Khosla, Sandeep Gupta, Rohin Chandan, Rikky Gupta, Satvir Singh, Ritika Trehan, Sushila Sharma, Shallu Gupta, Lovisha Gupta, Subhash Chowdhary and Priyanka.
In a statement issued to media here today, the senior BJP leader while expressing pleasure over the decision of the Union Govt to confer the above said award on Advani, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Govt at the Centre has a clear track record of conferring prestigious awards like Bharat Ratna, Padma Shri and other top constitutional awards only to the deserving people irrespective of political affiliations, caste, colour and creed.
Kavinder asserted that only those outstanding personalities who throughout their life played a vital role in serving the society and the nation have been conferred these highest national awards by the incumbent Govt during its two tenures under a transparent policy.
Castigating the earlier in successive regimes headed by Congress for honouring 'only the leftists' with these prestigious national awards, the senior BJP leader accused the Congress of selecting the list of such national awardees during its governance with the only motive to safeguard the vested interests of the party and Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.
He asserted that conferring the Bharat Ratna on veteran leader in Indian polity Advani Ji is unquestionable and none especially the opposition parties and leaders should raise their fingers against Central Govt's decision in this regard.
Lauding the herculean contribution of the great leader L.K. Advani to the Indian society, Kavinder Gupta enumerated certain significant activities eulogising the vital role played by him in nation building. He said that Advani Ji devoted his whole life to strengthen the party and saffron party having established itself as the most viable party for governing the world's largest democracy could not have been possible without his huge contributions. He specially referred to the Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya saying that this has become a historical movement that reached a turning point as a result of his selfless contributions with Ram Mandir being a reality after centuries of struggle. He said that full credit goes to L.K. Advani for the success of this historical movement.
