Dps Jammu embraces fond farewell to class XII graduates - “Bazm-E-Rukhsat”

Jammu, Feb 3: Delhi Public School Jammu bid an emotional adieu to the graduating Class XII students in a spectacular ceremony named “Bazm-E-Rukhsat” held on February 3, 2024. The event was a harmonious blend of cultural magnificence, artistic prowess, and heartfelt farewells, bright selfie corners, leaving an enduring imprint on the hearts of students and faculty alike.
The day commenced with the traditional Tilak Ceremony, a symbol of warm reception by Class XI students, who enthusiastically welcomed their seniors. Following this, the presentation of personalized mementoes and titles provided a tangible reminder of the cherished moments shared throughout their academic journey.
Aradhya Sharma of Class XI set the tone with a soul-stirring welcome song, setting the stage for an evening filled with talent and emotions. The dynamic dancers of Class XI captivated the audience with a mesmerizing performance, showcasing the incredible artistic diversity within the school.
The highlight of the evening was the DPS Titles Round-1, where approximately 30 students competed for prestigious titles. Adding a touch of glamour, Class XI students showcased an Indian Cultural Trends-inspired ramp walk cum fashion show. The subsequent DPS Titles Round-2 featured 18 selected students displaying their exceptional talents in various categories, including singing, rap, dancing, slam poetry, baking, drawing, and more.
Round 3, the Question Round, tested the shortlisted candidates’ quick-wittedness, confidence, and spontaneity, resulting in a suspenseful competition with multiple ties. The expert panel of Judges - Ms. Bhavna Malhotra, Ms. Preeti Abrol, and Ms. Kamini Sawhney - announced the winners, marking a high point in the evening.
Harshit Mengi and Ridhima Bajpai were crowned Mr. Talent and Ms. Talent, while Harihar Sharma and Vridna Singh Pawar earned the titles of Mr. Versatile and Ms. Versatile. Harman Singh Soni and Gursneh Kour received the titles of Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell, respectively. Sheen Wanchoo and Aakash Sharma were honored as Ms. DPS and Mr. DPS 2024, respectively.
The ceremony featured diverse talents, including beatboxing, a Bollywood musical mashup, gymnastic displays, and an energetic Bhangra and Bollywood classics performance by Class XI students. The outgoing Class XII students also delivered thrilling individual and group performances, leaving the audience spellbound.
The esteemed Management of DPS Jammu, including Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Distinguished PVC, Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji, extended their best wishes to the outgoing Class XII students for their upcoming Board Examinations and wished them a bright future.
Principal Ms. Ruchi Chabra encouraged the students to carry the essence of the school motto - “Service Before Self” - in their hearts and assured them of the school’s unwavering support whenever needed.
She also congratulated the DPS Title Winners, commending the efforts of Class XI teachers and participants for the seamless organization of the event.
Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta, in her address, conveyed her blessings and best wishes for the forthcoming Board Examinations. Other dignitaries, including Dy. Headmistress-Ms. Rimpi Sharma, Tpt. Administrator-Mr. M.L Mehra, and Coordinators, graced the occasion with their presence.
The event, impeccably hosted by Prasan Sharma, Mayra Nargotra, Momin Adnan, and Diva Anand of Class XI, concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a truly memorable evening.
