Simriti, Shiv clinch Doda titles in senior category chess

JAMMU, Apr 21: Simriti swept BCADD Chess Titles in U-15, U-17, U-19 & Open categories in Girls section. While Shiv won in Open category, Shivang Kotwal Junior category title. Total 51 players participated in three day Chess trials. The tournament was inaugurated by Principal Adarsh Vidya Mandir Bhaderwah and lauded the efforts of BCADD in promoting the game of Chess in the remote areas of Doda District.
First day 34 players participated participated in different categories, 2nd day 28 players participated in different categories and last days all 51 players participated in Open categories out which 26 were Girl players. Rajesh Kotwal was the Observer from J&K Sports Council who personally monitored all the games and lauded the efforts of BCADD for smooth conclusion of the trials in a transparent manner.
Priya Kohli, Principal Bhartiya Vidhya Mandir Bhaderwah was the Chief guest in the Valiductory function on 11-04-2024 and distributed the certificates and Medals to the winners. All other players were given certificates. No entry was charged from the players for participation in trials and all players were given refreshment during all three days. 6 players were provided transportation facility also during all three days.
