Jammu, June 2: Higher-ups in the Education Department have started the process to reverify post-graduate degrees, teachers have acquired through distance education mode, from some fraudulent universities.
This decision was taken after the Education Department detected some fake degrees procured by some teachers to get promotions.
Highly placed sources said that after the declaration of summer vacations in government schools fall under the summer zones, the authorities have decided to utilize this opportunity to verify suspicious degrees.
“Only those degrees would be verified which the teachers have acquired after their recruitment to get promotions”, sources said and added that already a tentative list of such teachers, who have been promoted as lectu

“Post Graduate degrees procured by teachers through correspondence from some unknown degrees would be reverified to check authenticity”, sources said.
Sources said that hundreds of teachers had produced postgraduate degrees to get promotions as lecturers. These teachers were promoted on the basis of the degrees procured by them through correspondence mode.
