6/3/2024 10:03:57 PM
Early Times Report
JOURIAN, June 3: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College Jourian, in collaboration with NCORD, organized a slogan writing event to mark Anti-Tobacco Day. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, all eager to express their creativity and raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use.
The principal of the college, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, encouraged the students to actively engage in such events and emphasized the importance of staying away from any kind of drugs. Dr. Pandoh's address highlighted the critical role of youth in combating tobacco use and fostering a healthier society.
This year's Anti-Tobacco Day theme, "Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference," brought attention to the manipulative strategies employed by the tobacco industry to lure young people into addiction. The event aimed to create awareness about the severe health risks associated with tobacco use and advocated for stringent measures to safeguard public health, especially among the youth.
Through their powerful slogans, students conveyed messages of prevention and the need for a tobacco-free future. The event not only highlighted the harmful impact of tobacco but also empowered students to become advocates for a healthier and tobacco-free society.
