Traffic advisory for Jammu Parliamentary Constituency Vote Counting on June 4, 2024

JAMMU, June 3: In light of the Lok Sabha Election 2024, the counting of votes for the Jammu Parliamentary constituency is scheduled for June 4, 2024. The counting will take place at the following locations: Government Polytechnic College for Boys, Bikram Chowk MAM College, Jammu University Road Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar (for migrant votes only)
The counting will commence at 0700 hours. To facilitate smooth traffic regulation and provide parking for the officers on duty, there will be significant traffic restrictions and diversions on the specified routes.
Traffic Diversions and Restrictions:
No routine traffic movement/PSVs movement from Bikram Chowk to Asia Crossing and from PHQ Rotary to Bikram Chowk (MAM College tube) on June 4, 2024.
Authorized vehicles only: Only vehicles of ROs/AROs/observers/territorial officers/candidates with identity cards will be allowed to proceed towards their respective counting centers.
Diversions:
Vehicles coming from Narwal/Railway Station towards Dogra Chowk will be diverted from B.R Ambedkar Chowk towards Asia Crossing for onward journey.
Narwal/Railway Station bound vehicles should use Gujjar Nagar Bridge.
Vehicles bound for Gandhi Nagar/Shastri Nagar/Trikuta Nagar/Samba-Kathua will be diverted via the Fly-Over from Bikram Chowk.
Public Advisory:
The general public is requested to cooperate with the traffic police and avoid the mentioned routes to minimize traffic congestion.
