6/3/2024 10:10:04 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 3: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has strongly objected to the second increase in toll collection in the last five months in the state and has demanded its roll back.
In a press conference held today at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that the approval of increase in toll rates and prices of Amul products before the results of the Lok Sabha elections raises doubts on the government's intentions and insensitivity.
Sahni said that instead of providing relief to the people struggling with unemployment, inflation and economic recession, they are being continuously burdened with tax and inflation. He said that if road tax is collected on the purchase of a vehicle, then toll collection and its continuous increase is beyond his understanding.
He said that the government should stop boasting about the development of national highways. This national highway is being built by looting the pockets of the people. Along with this, Sahni strongly objected to the increase in the prices of Amul products and demanded the government to put a stop to these arbitrary increases. Sahni said that the Holy Shri Amarnath Yatra is starting in the next few days and they are demanding to make the toll free for the pilgrims , but the government is increasing the toll collection. On this occasion Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, Secretary Rajesh Handa were present.
