Celebration of 626th Birthday of Sant Kabir Maharaj Impressive Shobha Yatra taken out

JAMMU, June 3: The 626th birthday of Shiromani Sant Kabir Sahib Maharaj was celebrated with reverence and devotion. An impressive Shobha Yatra commenced from the village Kotli Gala Bana, R.S. Pura, and proceeded through the main bazaars of R.S. Pura, where locals warmly welcomed the participants by serving sweet water and refreshments to the devotees.
The Shobha Yatra was initiated by Ex-Block Development Counsellor Dalip Kumar and featured notable figures such as Chaman Lal Floria (President), Darshan Bhagat (Secretary), Surjeet Singh, Jeet Raj, Balak Ram, Shashi Kumar, Som Nath, Ex-Sarpanch Suraj Parkash, Ghara Ram (Ex-M.C.), and Dr. Preeti Bhagat, Vicky Mahajan also joined the Shobha Yatra. Attractive Jhankis depicting various aspects of the life of Sant Kabir were part of the Shobha Yatra attended by the devotees from across Jammu district. Speaking on the occasion, Chaman Lal Floria said that the objective of the Shobha Yatra was to send a message of Sadguru Kabir Maharaj’s ideology/philosophy which is based on humanity and welfare of all mankind irrespective of any religion, caste or creed.
He threw light on the life of Sant Kabir and highlighted his contribution in eradication of social evils from the society.
He said that the greatest contribution of Sant Kabir was towards establishment of a harmonious society based on social and economic justice. He said it was Sant Kabir who envisioned a society where every individual and community would be treated as equal.
He said that the preaching of great Saints and Gurus like Sant Kabir Ji have played a great role in the evolution of Indian society with its unique feature of composite culture. He called upon the people to enthuse in themselves such spiritual teachings to fight the challenges of today’s era of confusion and chaos.
Many revered personalities, including Baba Bhagwan Dass Jee Maharaj and Mata Bimla Devi, imparted their holy blessings to the devotees from the locality and distant areas. Sweet offerings from Baba Udas Marg Sanstha were distributed to the devotees. The Shobha Yatra concluded at Sant Kabir Temple in Kabir Nagar, Kotli Gala Bana, R.S. Pura. President Chaman Lal requested the devotees to attend Guru Ka Langar and invited everyone to participate in the mega celebration on the 4th of June 2024 (Tuesday) at Sant Kabir Temple, urging them to join with family, friends, and loved ones.
