CBC’s Two-Day exhibition concludes successfully at Turtuk

Leh, Sept 25: The two-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme cum photo exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication J&K & Ladakh region concluded today at the Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk, Leh. The event focused on promoting awareness around key government initiatives including Mission LiFE, Poshan Abhiyaan and the New Criminal Laws.
Representatives from various sectors, including Health, ICDS, Police, Agriculture, General Administration, and Education, took part in the programme. The resource persons shared detailed insights about government schemes, with the goal of empowering the local population to fully benefit from them. Agriculture Extension Officer, Nubra Gh. Hassan gave a detailed presentation on organic agricultural farming with a special focus on Ladakh region, saying Ladakh region demands promotion of organic farming given its topography and environment.
Participants were engaged through an array of multimedia resources, including photo exhibits, standees, booklets, pamphlets, and audio-visual aids, which illustrated the core objectives and benefits of the featured initiatives.
In his welcome address, Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, emphasized the critical role CBC plays in outreach, particularly in remote areas like Turtuk. He stated that the aim of these programmes is to educate the public about government schemes at the grassroots level to ensure wider accessibility and impact, empowering citizens and promoting holistic development.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, Naseer Ahmad Rather, highlighted the relevance of Mission LiFE and Poshan Abhiyaan to the Ladakh region, considering its unique environment and geography. He further announced that similar programmes would be organized in Tangse, Hanu, Khalai, Leh, and Kargil over the next two weeks. In addition to informative sessions, an open quiz and drawing competition were held, along with cultural performances by students. The event concluded with the distribution of mementos and certificates to participants. The participants took a pledge to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
