Interaction session on “Surya Se Har Ghar Bijli” organized by T.N.W.S. Jammu

Jammu, Oct 6: Today, the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (T.N.W.S.), Jammu, organized an interaction session between residents of Trikuta Nagar and Er. Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer (A.E.E.), Power Development Department (PDD) Sub-Division, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The session focused on the government’s solar energy initiative, “Surya Se Har Ghar Bijli,” which offers solar power solutions at subsidized rates for households.
The session began with a warm welcome by Mr. Rajinder Parshad Kakkar, President of T.N.W.S. Jammu, who introduced the team members and guests to the audience. Er. Nitin Mahajan then addressed the gathering, patiently listening to the concerns and doubts raised by the residents regarding solar power installation and its benefits. He provided detailed answers, explaining the financial aspects and process involved.
For a 5 KV solar system, the total cost is ₹2.58 lakhs, with a government subsidy of ₹94,800. The remaining amount can be financed by banks, including:

The system requires an area of 490 square feet and generates an average of 500–600 units of electricity. Required documents include an Aadhaar card, PAN card, and proof of property ownership, duly attested by affidavit. Residents were also informed about the availability of the JPDCL Smart Meter App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for monitoring usage.
Er. Ashok Kumar Arora, Patron of T.N.W.S., expressed gratitude to the guests, residents, and media personnel in his vote of thanks.
The event witnessed active participation from Trikuta Nagar residents, including prominent figures like Madam Rama Jamwal, Madam Rubal Mahajan, Er. Kulveer Singh, Er. Subhash, Vijay Gupta, Dr. T.R. Gupta, S.N. Kaul, Er. Ravinder Kaul, K.K. Mahajan, R.K. Kakroo, S. Amarjeet Singh, and N.K. Bali.
The session concluded on a positive note, with residents gaining clarity on the solar energy initiative and its benefits for their homes.
