GDC students visit at KVK Reasi

Reasi, Oct 9: Govt.General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi students visited here today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) pertaining to internship/training course under NEP-2020. The visit was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Triptahi and able guidance of Director Extension (DE), Prof. Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. Chief Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal warmly welcomed the Principal of Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi, Prof. Mazammal Hussain alongwith his other staff members and students. While speaking during the technical session Dr. Banarsi spoke on the commercial agriculture and discussed the income and employment opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.
He discussed on hydroponics technology, natural farming, spices cultivation, millets farming, poultry farming and said that students should avail the benefits of such types of useful programmes to upgrade their skills and knowledge. He stressed on entrepreneurship development in agriculture and discussed on innovative technologies. The Principal of Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi, Prof. Mazammal Hussain appreciated the efforts of KVK Reasi and asked the students to avail the benefits of such courses. He discussed on backyard poultry and appreciated the efforts of KVK Reasi. Prof. Ravi Kant and Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri of Govt. Degree College Reasi also spoke during the programme. Students visited the hydroponics unit, nano kitchen garden, natural farming unit, spices unit ,crop cafeteria etc. established at KVK Reasi and they showed keen interest in the demonstrated technologies. An exhibition and video show on scientific farming were also arranged during the programme. Students also interacted with the officials during the interactive session and asked various quarries which were answered by the officials in a satisfactorily way. The programme was assisted by Sh.Manohar Lal and concluded by Dr.Banarsi Lal with the formal vote of thanks.
