JAMMU, Oct 9: NCC Unit of GDC Paloura (2 J&K NCC, BN Boys) in collaboration with Department of History organised a cleanliness drive at historical Baba Jito Pond, Bawa Talab. The Programme was the part of NCC's Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, which is a nationwide Flagship campaign to clean river banks, sea shores and other water bodies for the removal of Plastic and other waste material, while raising awareness about the importance of cleanliness. In this event NCC Cadets visited the historical Bawa Jito (Pond) and carried out the cleaning of the pond and periphery. The purpose of the event was to clean the water bodies and create an awareness among the local people about the importance of water bodies for our environment. Thirty NCC Cadets along with local people participated in the event. The whole programme was carried out by Professor (Lt) Arun Sharma, ANO and Professor Vishal Magotra, HOD History under the able guidance of Dr. Kulvinder Kour Principal GDC Paloura. |
